Northwest Regional Development Agency
The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) leads the economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest and is responsible for:

  • Supporting business growth and encouraging investment
  • Matching skills provision to employer needs
  • Creating the conditions for economic growth
  • Connecting the region through effective transport and communication infrastructure
  • Promoting the regions outstanding quality of life


North West Universities Association
The North West Universities Association (NWUA) aims to foster collaboration between its fifteen members and regional partners for the benefit of Higher Education and the North West region.

European Social Fund (ESF)
The European Social Fund provides employment opportunities for all, by providing funding in order to re-train or up-skill the UK workforce.

European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
The European Regional Development Fund is provided by the European Community to provide investment in socially and economically challenged areas of Europe.

Higher Education Funding Council for England (hefce)
Working in partnership, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) promotes and funds high-quality, cost-effective teaching and research, meeting the diverse needs of students, the economy and society.

Business Link
Practical advice for businesses

Small Business Service
The SBS provides the public, researchers, the media, and policy makers with information about who we are and what we are doing. We also operate another website - Business Link - that forms part of the Business Link national advice service, providing straightforward business information and access to a wide network of business support.
